Journalism Program
Learn how to tell a video-based story for TV broadcast, write for an online publication and reach audiences via social media.
Our journalism courses are home to several disciplines including broadcasting, online/print journalism, storytelling, editing, producing, directing and more.
Our fully-equipped editing bays, control room and studio simulate a real-world newsroom.
Broadcast Journalism.
Students will prepare students to demonstrate proficiency in the core skills related to both new media, social media and broadcast journalism. Students will learn how to gather story ideas, shoot, interview, write, and cut a full news package from start to finish.
Television Production.
Students will gain comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in various aspects of creating television content. This includes scriptwriting, camera operation, lighting techniques, anchoring, reading prompters, running the control room, and studio production.
Social Media.
Students will gain insight into leveraging various social media platforms to enhance journalistic practices. They will learn strategies for researching, reporting, and disseminating news, while also developing skills in audience engagement and building a professional online presence.
Our journalism degree programs offer comprehensive education and training in various aspects of media, including news reporting, writing, editing and multimedia storytelling.
Students in these programs learn essential skills to become proficient journalists, exploring topics like ethics, investigative techniques, and media technologies, preparing them for careers in print, broadcast, online journalism or related fields.
